MIKE O’MEALLY: SKATE PHOTOS 1993-2013

Sydney, Australia, February 25, 2013 - Last week in Surry Hills hundreds of people packed into the seminal China Heights Gallery to absorb some of the classic moments in time captured by Australian skate photographer Mike O’Meally. Sydney locals were joined the likes of Steve Caballero, Jeff Grosso, Omar Hassan, Christian Hosoi, Dustin Dollin, Chima Ferguson, Eric Koston, Ryan Sheckler, Arto Saari and Rune Glifberg to celebrate a career spanning over 20 years.

For the last 20 years O’Meally has travelled the globe documenting some of the world’s most prolific skateboarders. His exhibition ‘Mike O’Meally: Skate Photos 1993 -2013’ is a selection of images taken from his extensive archive of skate photography.

O’Meally has collaborated with and documented some of the world's best skaters, and while capturing their sometimes death defying skill on a board he has built a reputation as a photographer in touch with the emotion and spirit of what it means to ride.

During his career O’Meally’s images have appeared on the covers and in the pages of Slam, Slap, Thrasher, Skateboarder, Monster Children and Transworld (where he’s currently Senior Photographer), from portraits of skateboarding's most notorious figures to candid moments captured by a knowing eye.

20 limited edition framed photos are for sale alongside special edition O’Meally Photo T-shirts by Supply (http://www.supplystore.com.au) and Zine by IzRock Productions (http://www.izrock.com/index.html).
